Harbor Council PTA coordinates and supports programs that enrich student learning, promote safety, and recognize outstanding service across Newport-Mesa Unified School District.

Reflections Art Program

The National PTA Reflections program encourages students to explore their creativity through dance, film, literature, music composition, photography, and visual arts. Harbor Council PTA supports participating school units and coordinates the council-level judging and recognition.

2024–2025 Theme: I Am Hopeful Because…

  • Confirm your school’s participation and identify a Reflections Chair.

  • Share program information, rules, and entry forms with students, families, and staff.

  • Use council and state PTA resources to help run your unit program.

For questions or support, contact the Harbor Council PTA Reflections Chair at [email protected].

Bike Safety

Bike and wheel safety are a key focus for Harbor Council PTA. Working with schools and community partners, we help promote safe riding habits for students who bike, scooter, or skate to and from school.

  • Encouraging helmet use and safe riding practices.

  • Supporting school-site bike safety assemblies or parent education.

  • Partnering on incentive programs that reward safe choices.

PTA leaders interested in hosting a bike safety event or learning about available resources can connect with the Harbor Council PTA Programs VP at [email protected].

Honorary Service Awards Luncheon

The Honorary Service Awards (HSA) program recognizes individuals and organizations who have made significant contributions to the welfare of children and youth in our community. Harbor Council PTA hosts an annual luncheon to celebrate these honorees from across NMUSD.

  • Each unit PTA may nominate volunteers, staff, and community members for HSA recognition.

  • Honorees are recognized at the council luncheon, typically held in the spring.

  • Proceeds from HSA awards support the California State PTA scholarship and grant programs.

Event details, date, and nomination information will be shared with units and posted here as they become available.
